Local Information

Roeterseiland campus

QPL2026 will take place at the Roeterseiland campus of the University of Amsterdam, which houses the faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences and student cultural centre CREA. The entrance to the building the conference will take place at is at Nieuwe Achtergracht 168-184. The campus is located in the Plantagebuurt of Amsterdam, one of the most beautiful and greenest parts of Amsterdam that is just outside, but still close to the city center. The campus houses multiple modern buildings, study facilities and research labs that are surrounded by many restaurants and cafes.

Roeterseiland campus can be easily reached with public transport, including metro, tram and bus. The closest station is Weesperplein, which is just a few stops away from Amsterdam’s central train station and serviced by metro 51, 53 and 54, tram 1, 14 and 7, as well as at least five different bus routes. Car parking options on campus are very limited, so traveling to the conference by car is not recommended - instead, we recommend renting a bike at Amsterdam’s numerous bike rental places. Find more information on getting around Amsterdam here. The building where the conference will take place is wheelchair accessible. Conference attendees with reduced mobility can enter building A/B/C through the main entrance (B/C) or through a special entrance located on the Valckenierstraat.

Information for presenting posters

The poster session will be held on the first floor in the central hall of the A-building.

Poster boards are 1000mm wide by 1250mm high. We recommend that your poster be A0 sheet size (841mm x 1190mm) printed in portrait orientation. Figures and type should be easily seen from a distance of 2 meters. Use clear graphics and large type to accomplish this. Each poster is assigned a number, called the Board Number, which will indicate where to post your poster. Velcro stickers are provided on each posterboard to mount your poster to the board. Tape, glue and other adhesives are not to be used on the poster boards. Posters may be put up starting at 10:00AM on Monday 17th of August. Please do not hang posters earlier as they may be removed. All posters must be taken down by 5:00 pm on Thursday 20th of August. Posters left on the boards after this time will be removed.

Printing your poster

We encourage poster presenters to print out their posters ahead of time and bring them to the conference, as local printers may not have capacity to do a large number of posters on short notice. Keep in mind that during busy times, it may take one or more working days for your poster to get printed. We recommend that you get your printing order placed before arriving in Amsterdam.
